Enchanting Oddities

Enchanting Oddities is a small shop in the Lavender Beds — ward 10, number 49 (Mateus) — where Aisleita sells an eccentric assortment of wares. When the proprietress is present, she can be found in varying places around the shop — behind the counter, relaxing on a couch with a book, or downstairs in her workroom (leaving a sign pointing to the bell on the counter, typically). The shop is relatively small, a touch cramped, and chaotically organized. Amongs the good on display for sale are an assortment of potions and salves, a selection of minor enchanted items and materials, a handful of glamour-projecting accessories, and quite a substantial number of second-or-more-hand books.

  • [Books] Books are one of the shop's staples. The proprietress has an extensive collection of books, especially covering history, geography, alchemy, enchanting, and magic. Some of her volumes are exceptionally rare or dangerous, but the texts kept in the main shop area are more simple things, often duplicates of others in her collection — there's even a small selection of fiction, including some rather-risque romance novels.

  • [Potions] Potions are another staple of Enchanting Oddities, with much of the stock on the floor consisting of all the important basics for self-care and health, including analgesics, healing salves, sunscreen, lotions, and similar. Other rarer or more dangerous stock is kept behind the counter — or perhaps stored elsewhere entirely.

  • [Enchantments] Enchanted items are also something the shop tends to sell a modest amount of, including things such as cloths and materials that are supernaturally durable, or able to repair tears and cuts on their own. Some more strange items can also sometimes be found, such as the small lantern that can sometimes be spotted trailing the shopkeep of its own accord.

  • [Glamours] Yet another staple of the shop's wares are glamoured items. Most notable amongst them are some pieces of jewellery that project tattoo-like patterns onto skin, without the need for permanency nor the mess of body paint. Alongside such items is a small sign noting that most glamours need to be customized to fit the wearer specifically, and that this service is indeed provided by Enchanting Oddities.

  • [Relics] While there's often very few true relics in stock, Enchanting Oddities sometimes has such strange or unusual objects about, though often they are not simply displayed in the main shop area. Furthermore, the proprietress is available for hire in handling, identifying, or researching strange magical relics — and will often be interested in purchasing such things for resale or simply for herself.

  • [Adult Wares] [18+] The eccentric little shop also sells a selection of adult-oriented items, though these are not kept or displayed in the main floor of the shop. The sorts of items generally align with the others that the shop sells, just with an 'adult' lean to them — books, potions, enchanted items, glamours, and perhaps even the occasional relic.

Custom orders for items are welcome! Pricing and specifics will need to be discussed with the proprietress, but she's willing to take most sorts of orders that she feels she can adequately deliver upon.Demonstrations or samples of some of her wares may be provided by the proprietress upon request, though this is up to her sole discretion and may involve a small fee to cover materials. If you have need of some sort of obscure knowledge, item, or spell to help move a character plot along, Enchanting Oddities may be able to help! While not typically stocking obscenely-powerful objects, the strange assortment of items that have passed through Aisleita's hands could certainly include things that may be able to fill a minor role in a plotline. Please be sure to check out Aisleita's profile for more information on the proprietress and RP involving her! She's the only one around, so... If you come to Enchanting Oddities, it's her you'll find.

Enchanting Oddities
@ The Veiled Oasis

Enchanting Oddities stocks many sorts of magical goods (and non-magical books), though much of the stock doesn't travel very well. Books are heavy, potions vials are fragile, resulting in the proprietress bringing a small sampling of her wares to the market, rather than anything remotely resembling her full stock. The proprietress may be willing to take commissions for items or work beyond the scope of her current inventory here, though that would need to be discussed with her directly as to the details of any arrangements.

Relics

There are no relics currently stocked — however, the proprietress is almost-always interested in examining, identifying, bartering for, or otherwise acquiring magical relics and artifacts, should a visitor happen to have any.

Books

  • [Sold!] A Beginner's Guide to Poisonous Plants of Aldenard: A volume detailing some of the basic poisonous plants of Aldenard, though the author focuses on those with hallucinogenic toxins.

  • [Sold!] The Painter's Dreams: A volume filled with prints of a reclusive painter from Dravania, with vistas of — allegedly — other worlds depicted.

  • A Brief History of the Republic of Garlemald: A rare volume that contains some of the history of the pre-Imperial Garlean Republic, including depictions of some aspects of normal life at the time.

  • An assortment of paperback fiction novels: There's also quite a number of paperback fiction novels in a box near the more prominently-displayed centerpiece books — though it's quite clear these were not sorted or hand-picked, but grabbed at seeming random.

Enchantments

  • Self-healing cloth: A bolt of undyed cloth, suitable for use by a skilled tailor. The cloth may be used to create a garment that, when damaged, will gradually repair itself to its original state, so long as no substantial amount of material is lost.

  • Tracker's compass: A compass with a detailed enchantment inscribed into the components that allows one skilled with aether manipulation to temporarily imbue the device with an aetheric signature to point towards. The range of the compass is fairly low, especially when tracking a moving target.

Glamours

  • Fancy fingernails: A small assortment of rings and bracelets that, when worn, project a glamour of fancy, long, and/or manicured fingernails. Far easier to deal with than actual nails, and much less likely to accidentally scratch someone.

  • Tattoos and body paint: A small assortment of necklaces imbued with glamours that look like tattoos or body paint on the wearer's skin, without any of the mess or permanency.

Under the Table

There are a couple sealed boxes tucked away under the table or off to the side that the proprietress has not put on display. Not exactly a secret — though also not something she puts front-and-center — the proprietress sells a number of items that cater to more intimate needs of customers and their partners, including potions, enchanted items, and books.
